Caring for your investment..
Your extension hair is not attached to a follicle & your extension hair does not receive natural oils from your scalp!
Hydration is vital for your extensions! Using serums, oils and weekly masks is incredibly important when it comes to protecting your investment.
Here are our favorite products we recommend and personally use:
Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner:
Pureology Color Fanatic leave in spray
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
It's A 10 Miracle Mask
IGK AntiSocial Dry Mask
ColorWow Smoothing Dream Cocktail
Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press heat spray
Use the shampoo & conditioner to wash (duh)
Use the Miracle mask every other wash (sometimes every wash since I only wash once a week) in place of conditioner
Color Fanatic & Super Skinny EVERYTIME after washing
Use either the Super Skinny OR Antisocial every night on dry hair before braiding for bed
And the Dream Cocktail around every 3rd wash once my extensions are a few months old (brings those babies back to life!)
HEAT SPRAY EVERY SINGLE TIME any use of any iron on these locks! Finding ways to limit heat (heartless curls, braids) is even better!
AVOID strengthening products & protein as this can dry your extensions out and make them brittle and cause breakage/shrinkage
Keep in mind, the lighter your extensions are in color, the lesser lifespan they may have!
Just like natural hair, the more pigment removed, the more fragile the hair becomes.
Your hair is an investment and needs to be well taken care of to live its full lifespan! Hydrate them babies.
